Magazine piece!
The new issue of Grit is online, with my very first magazine piece! Here's the link to my "Looking Back" column, Blackberry Memories. Be sure to check out the illustrations, in the upper right corner.
Hey, Seldom Seen, you're from Shinglehouse! My grandmother (of the blackberry piece) lived in Roulette. Card Creek, actually. My uncle and aunt live in Roulette and Coudersport. Various cousins are around there, too!
Thanks for your kind words. Come back and visit anytime!
I'm a writer, teacher, singer, mom and wife who tries to balance it all, with varying degrees of success on any given day. I've sung with opera companies, been on the communications staff for two health care organizations, and taught music at Catholic and public schools. Now I teach voice and Suzuki piano privately, cantor at local churches, and freelance for (mostly) local publications. And chase my three kids around.

Beautiful, Julie! Just beautiful!
Julie your article in Grit is what directed me to your blog. Great article for a great Magazine. Keep up the good work.

Awesome! The pictures are lovely, too...but I don't think Dad is quite that tall. :-D
